For their innovative approach that has enabled Gujarat to become the first state in India to achieve 100% electrification of villages.
The Jyoti Gram Yojna’s approach of segregating rural power feeders into agriculture and non- agriculture consumers has succeeded in providing 3-phase, 24-hour; uninterrupted power supply to all the 18,065 villages and also to 9,680 suburbs attached to these villages. Achieved in a record time of 30 months, this unique time-bound initiative has given a tremendous fillip to the rural economy.

For developing an innovative approach to children’s learning through intensive and extensive field and its delivery based on mobilizing people’s involvement to provide quality education to underprivileged children.
Pratham’s flagship programme ‘read India’ delivers effective learning to almost 11 million children in 11 states implemented as a citizen’s movement with the help of school teachers. Anganwadi workers and volunteers mobilized and trained by pratham teams and networked with state governments. In enhancing children’s learning, the programme marks a significant stride over other conventional approaches.
